ALMIGHTY God who lives forever, increase our faith, hope, and love for our neighbors; and, so that we may come to heaven, make us to love what you have commanded; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

BIBLE STORY
****Luke 17:11****
It happened that as he made his way toward Jerusalem, he crossed over the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he entered a village, ten men, all lepers, met him. They kept their distance but raised their voices, calling out, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!" Taking a good look at them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." They went, and while still on their way, became clean. One of them, when he realized that he was healed, turned around and came back, shouting his gratitude, glorifying God. He kneeled at Jesus' feet, so grateful. He couldn't thank him enough—and he was a Samaritan. Jesus said, "Were not ten healed? Where are the nine? Can none be found to come back and give glory to God except this outsider?" Then he said to him, "Get up. On your way. Your faith has healed and saved you."

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Grace and Peace be with you Christ's Soldier!
The bible story today is about thanking God. Jesus told some men with a skin disease to go to the priests and show them their skin. They would be healed. Then they could live with all the people. They left Jesus to go. Along the way, they became well. Their skin was healed.
One of the ten men was thankful. He ran back to thank Jesus. He wanted to tell Jesus how much he loved him. He wanted to say how his heart felt. Jesus liked this very much. He saw in this man a great love. He saw devotion to God. He saw into his heart, and it was good. He wondered why the other nine did not give thanks.
Now this man was a Samaritan. Many people hated Samaritans because they were different. They had some foreign ancestors. They prayed another way. But this story shows that Jesus doesn't care about who a person is. He doesn't care who their ancestors were. He doesn't even care if they pray another way. Jesus cares about what is in a man's heart. On the last great day, when Jesus opens the gates of heaven to all those who are resurrected, he will look at their hearts.
Do you love Jesus way down in your heart? Are you thankful for all the good God gives us? Do you want to do what God asks of us? Then always give him thanks and praise. Everyday, say the Lord's prayer. Remember a little song and sing it in your heart. Love God and you will please him. Then Jesus will help you to do all that he commands.
A little song that I really like is this one. It is easy to sing in you heart or out loud. You can sing it over and over again... It became popular in the old days when Granddaddy was young. It is much older than Granddaddy. It was written about 900 years ago!
Day by day Day by day Oh Dear Lord Three things I pray To see thee more clearly Love thee more dearly Follow thee more nearly Day by dayKeep healthy! May God, the Father, and the Son and the Holy Ghost bless you, your family, and your friends!
